How to Take Charge of Your Life

Have you ever struggled with taking charge because you are a people-pleaser? Do you follow more than you lead? Are you suffering from decision fatigue?

If this is you but you don’t want others to rule your life, then turning around and taking charge of your life is key.

The bad news first: Taking charge is uncomfortable. Most of the time you have to leave your cosy comfort zone. The good news is that from there you start growing and move forward with taking the charge of your own life.

Own Your Life

Taking charge deals with autonomy and responsibility. You own your life, and you owe yourself to live in independence. Even if it seems impossible due to your past or the current circumstances - you owe it to yourself.

To take charge of your life means that you decide on your own, and you defend your decisions against other opinions. Taking control means that you live YOUR life rather than the life of others. This means you leave behind the critics and the haters.

Conforming with the right people is also part of taking charge of the positivity in your life. Leave behind the negativity and the wrong influencers and head towards positivity.

Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

The primary and most important reason is simple: Life gets better with taking charge of it.

Change doesn’t happen within the comfort zone of sweet laziness. If you want to change something, you have to leave that zone. There the magic begins. After some teething troubles, you will feel better soon and get more confident. Thus, I claim that taking charge increases confidence.

To take charge means to be independent of other’s opinions and good suggestions. You create your own opinion about your life. Taking charge allows you to create your own life and get independet.

Resilience also increases with more confidence and an independent lifestyle.

Do The Hard Work

As mentioned, it is hard work to take charge, and often not comfortable to decide on your own. Taking responsibility and push through obstacles is hard, but it is always worth it.

Benefits:

Party equipment; multi-colored confetti, and a bottle prosecco with a glass on a pink background to symbolize that taking the charge is worth the effort.

The first benefit is: getting an independent lifestyle and living without regretting. You are more likely to stand in for your own decisions when you do the hard work.

Another benefit is to expand your comfort zone. You will become braver with every independent decision or action. If you don’t challenge yourself often, the opposite will happen. The same is valid for avoiding taking charge. Your comfort zone would shrink, and your independence would decrease, too. Take note of this for any problems that occur! Avoiding negative issues weakens us more than it helps.

Critical reminder:

it is your responsibility to live a life on purpose and have a good time! Don’t become lazy in your friendly comfort zone. It’s better to go out and explore the exciting new things that are waiting for you.

For all the visual people out there, imagine being the captain of your ship. It is your responsibility where the boat is going. Generally, taking charge of your life has a lot of advantages and benefits.
